The goal for the Abbott Prints logo was to create a clear, modern mark that represents a 3D printing small business focused on precision, craftsmanship, and functionality. Because the client requested only a logo with no additional brand identity elements, the design needed to stand confidently on its own.
I focused on a simple, scalable form that would translate effectively across physical prints, digital platforms, and machinery without relying on extended branding assets. The logo was designed to feel technical yet approachable, reflecting the innovation and hands-on nature of 3D printing.
Typography and form were kept clean and intentional to ensure legibility at various sizes, from small print labels to larger applications. This restrained approach allows the logo to remain flexible while still clearly communicating the brand’s purpose.
Overall, the Abbott Prints logo balances clarity and utility, delivering a strong visual identity through a single, focused mark that meets the client’s needs while maintaining a professional and modern aesthetic.

Process Work
An early concept for the Abbott Prints logo focused on a solid, highly structured form. While the design was clean and well-constructed, it did not fully represent the brand’s personality or the dynamic nature of 3D printing. The mark felt too rigid and lacked the sense of speed, playfulness, and dimensionality that define the process of 3D printing.
This iteration also remained monochromatic, following the owner’s initial request to avoid color. Although this maintained simplicity, it limited the logo’s ability to communicate depth and movement, key aspects of the brand’s work. The absence of visual references to layering and form further distanced the design from the core identity of Abbott Prints.
Reflecting on this version helped clarify the need to balance structure with energy and expression. This insight guided later design decisions, leading to a more engaging logo that better captures the brand’s quick, hands-on, and innovative character.
